Register as a vehicle importer.
Register with the GSA on VEDIS — as a private importer (up to two vehicles a year) or a commercial importer. Link to ICUMS with your Ghana Card or TIN, accept the declaration, and GSA reviews and approves. Your VEDIS ID and login are emailed to you.

Who acts for the dealership?
This is the person GSA will contact for licensing matters. They must be authorised to represent the dealership.
Request a CoC / PVoC inspection.
Submit a Pre-Shipment Inspection request through VEDIS for up to ten vehicles at once. VEDIS routes it to an approved Third-Party Inspection Body in the country of origin, who inspects each vehicle and issues its Certificate of Conformance.

Cleared at the port of entry.
The inspection body attaches a conformity sticker and uploads the report and CoC to your VEDIS account. GSA reviews it and, at the point of entry, verifies the sticker, vehicle and certificate before releasing the vehicle into ICUMS.
